3 Simple Ways to Determine If He’s Worth Your Time

First, this is my opinion and what I’ve learned. Secondly, dating or finding someone to date may seem tough, but it doesn’t have to be. Here are three simple ways to determine if he’s worth your time. Want to know what they are? Keep reading!

Way #1–Does he have a job?

This is important! He’s got to have a legal way to make money for himself. A job! He has to have a way to provide for himself.

Practicing poker all day for a world tournament in Las Vegas is not a job. Sitting at home on his behind playing Call of Duty all day to prepare for some tournament down at the neighborhood Gamestop is not a job.

If it’s not bringing in money consistently, then it’s a hobby. Hobbies are fine. They relieve stress and make us feel good.

But, he has to have a legal way to earn money to support himself. It could be working at a fast food joint, digging ditches, whatever. As long as it’s honest work.

I know a guy, let’s call him Chuck, who started at a fast food place back in the late nineties. He was new to the area and needed a job. His cousin worked at a local restaurant and got him a job there.

Chuck’s a hard worker and took pride in his work. He would fill in for folks who called in sick and would sometimes work on his days off.

He was working an insane amount of hours per week. When I asked him why, he said he had to pay for his apartment and car.

To him, failure wasn’t an option. If he failed, he’d be homeless, and he wasn’t about to let that happen.

His managers saw his hard work and talked to him about a promotion. So he started to climb the management ladder: shift leader, assistant manager, general manager, area coach, and then District manager.

As a district manager, he’s making good money and has a company car and credit card. Now Chuck is with a different company doing the same thing but making more money.

I’m not saying your dude has to be making six figures, but he needs to have a legal way to support himself.

Way #2–How is he living?

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, many people have lost their jobs and have come up with alternative living arrangements.

I applaud him if he lost his job and moved into his parent’s home to save on expenses. That shows that he has some common sense.

However, if he’s in his late twenties and still living at home (and has never lived on his own), I’d want to know why. If he’s taking care of a family member, that shows his got heart. If he’s living at home and not paying rent, I’d rethink this situation

Way #3–Does he have his own transportation?

He’s got to have a way to get around. It could be a bus pass or a bicycle. Even by foot, if he lives in an area where everything is right there.

What you don’t want to do is move into Scrub territory. The musical group TLC sang about them in the song ‘No Scrubs.

Girl, don’t mess with any dude hanging out of the passenger side of his best friend’s ride trying to holler at you!

The takeaway

There are 3 easy ways to tell if he’s worth your time.

1. Does he have a job? 2. How is he living? 3. Does he have his own transportation?

Now a dude with two of these is fine, even one is okay. Even having one of these shows that he has some common sense.

I dated a guy who didn’t have a car and lived at home with his parents. But he did have a job. After about a year, we broke up and went our seperate ways. I ran into him about a year ago, and found out he worked with autistic children. He had gone from a low-paying job to something better.

This is all my opinion, and I think there are 3 easy ways to tell if he’s worth your time.

Just saying.
