In life, we’ll encounter situations where how we act will characterize us whether we like it or not. Every choice we make will reflect who we are. There’s a line between class and the behaviors that might be labeled as trashy.

Want to know six ways of how to keep it classy, keep reading!

How to keep it classy

1. Embrace Self-Respect

Keeping it classy starts with respecting yourself. Know your self-worth and value what makes you unique. Always be kind to yourself, and prioritize your well-being. When you respect yourself, others will naturally do it too.

2. Mind Your Manners

Manners never go out of style. Doing something small like saying “please” and “thank you” or even holding the door open for someone will say alot about you.

3. Dress with Elegance

It’s not about wearing the most expensive clothes but about how you carry yourself in whatever you choose to wear. Aim for modesty while embracing styles that make you feel beautiful and confident.

4. Cultivate Inner Beauty

True classiness comes from inside. Showing kindness, compassion, and empathy to everyone highlights your inner beauty; and leaves a lasting impression on those around you.

5. Handle Conflict Gracefully

There will always be conflicts and disagreements. Instead of approaching angrily, come at the issue calmly and composedly.

Here’s an example: Imagine you’re in a parking lot waiting to hand off your child to their father for his scheduled visit.  He’s late. Instead of lashing out when he arrives, a classy response would be to remain calm and pass on what he needs to know about his child. Then, later on, call him and calmly speak with him privately.

6. Stay Authentic

Embrace who you are. Be yourself in your actions, thoughts, and words. Don’t feel that you have to conform to society’s standard of perfection.

The takeaway

Classiness isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being your best self and treating others with respect and dignity.

By embracing self-respect, minding your manners, dressing with elegance, cultivating inner beauty, handling conflict gracefully, and staying authentic, you’ll give off a timeless charm that’s sure to leave a lasting impression wherever you go.
