Hi! My name is Marsha. I am an African American woman who is a mom, wife, and working professional.
The Reason for This Blog
The idea for this blog came from my desire to give my teenage daughter the knowledge and common sense needed to navigate the real world. I didn’t want her to fall into the same traps I did.
As I thought about educating her, I began to consider other girls and young women who might not have someone to guide them through life. That’s how this blog, A Woman’s Outlook, was born.
My Backstory
I was born into a small family with a large support circle. While growing up, many older family members and family friends gave me advice, such as “Save your money” or “Think before you speak.”
Being hardheaded, I didn’t listen. I thought I knew everything and that older folks didn’t understand my world.
What I didn’t realize was that they had already traveled the road I was about to take and were giving me a heads-up.
So, I had all this knowledge but didn’t use it. It wasn’t until certain things happened that I realized I could have avoided many situations if I had just listened.
What to Expect from A Woman’s Outlook
This blog will feature straight, honest discussions about lessons and tips on three key topics: life, relationships, and work/school.
Please remember that these are my personal experiences and opinions. If I feel a subject might be sensitive to some readers, I will include a warning at the top of the post.
If I ever overlook something, I sincerely apologize. My goal is not to expose anyone to something they’re not ready for—I want this to be a safe space for learning and sharing.
Additionally, I will occasionally mention the Lord God and His son, Jesus Christ, as they play a significant role in my life.
